On Site Volunteers

Since our beginning in 2000, Loaves & Fishes has operated and served by the dedication and commitment of community volunteers . . . we have never had and still do not have any paid staff! Our volunteers share with us that through their serving, they are the ones who receive the Lord’s Blessings! Many volunteers on our team have been with us for over 15 years!
We invite you to share in these blessings as we strive to feed the hungry in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. We think you will find that you will also share in these blessings and have your heard touched by those we serve.

Wo Can Volunteer?

ANYBODY!! We welcome anyone who would like to join us in our mission. Church groups; civic groups; school groups; individuals; corporate/business groups

When

Serve Thursdays from 8:00 AM – 12 Noon as we distribute food. It requires 15-20 volunteers each week as we prepare and serve:

Ways to Volunteer

Unloading the truck from East Alabama Food Bank on Thursday mornings. ** Sorting and packaging food – canned goods, dry goods, produce, frozen meats, & boxing the packaged food. ** Serving to load food into recipients’ cars. ** Unloading and sorting food received from local grocers on Monday & Wednesday mornings. ** Serving to drive our van: To pick up food from local sources – Mondays & Wednesday mornings and as other resources become available. ** Pick up food from the Midwest Food Bank at Wetumpka, AL once each month. ** Serving to deliver shuts-ins and senior citizens.
